Okay I guess, but not if you’re replacing MX621
This shoe might be okay in its own right, but I was led to believe that it was an upgrade to the 621. It is an entirely different shoe, although it looks similar.

The biggest difference is in the toe box, which is much narrower than the 621, even in 4E size.

I sure wish that they still made the 621. I am now on a search for a replacement.

MUCH MORE THAN I HAD HOPED FOR!
I was looking for a sturdy yet comfortable athletic shoe that I would be able to wear for many hours at a time, either at the lab or while on vacation. Hence I would not accept anything that did not have special cushioning for both heel and forefoot.
At the same time I wanted something that would not clash too much with a sports jacket. Hence the search for a total black look.

For years I had been an exclusive NIKE customer when it came to athletic shoes but that brand has no all-black AIR MAX 360 (which was what I was looking for at first). Then I came across the NEW BALANCE 622 and did not regret giving them a try (disregard the mini-picture: it comes also in black).

This model indeed has special cushioning for both heel and forefoot (a copyrighted system called Abzorb®) and the sole design hags the foot from all angles. It feels solid yet light, sturdy yet flexible. I especially like the upper curvature of the sole in the front, whereas I really appreciated the availability of three sizes of wideness.

My only gripe is that some of the eyelets are plastic. Now, they are not flimsy and none has even demonstrated a tendency to brake so far – but I ‘d rather have metal trimmed eyelets peace of mind anytime.

A student of mine commented that NEW BALANCE is the brand that Steve Jobs wears exclusively and I was…strutting for almost a day before I found out that APPLE’s creative genius favors the…991 model.

Anyway, computer moguls preferences non-withstanding, over the past months I found myself wearing this pair much more than I though. No wonder back-pain specialists recommend NEW BALANCE shoes.

New Balance MX622 shoes
This is a good overall shoe for walking around or light training. It is by no means a running shoe but it is very comfortable for walking.

I ordered them in size “E” and they came in as a “2E”. I called the dealer and was told they are considered an E and that is the way they come.

???? but the fit was o.k. so I kept them.

A great buy
I needed a brown work shoe that would help keep me on my feet for 10 – 12 hours. While this is titled a walking shoe it has done a great job as a work shoe. It’s comfortable and provides great support. My only comment would be that it seems the sizes run a tiny bit small.

Just What My Feet Need!
I have been buying these New Balance shoes for about 4 years and won’t even consider buying a different shoe. After being diagnosed with plantar fascitis by my podiatrist years ago, I learned that good shoes are a must have. These shoes are very comfortable and give my foot all the support it needs. Another thing that is important about this shoe is the rollbar which controls pronation.

The best tennis shoe ever
New Balance is the best Tennis shoe I’ve ever worn. And, it is the 800 series that I’ve been wearing for the last nine years. It’s the only tennis shoe I can wear where my toes don’t cramp and cross causing me much pain. I used to do a lot of 10K walks and ended up having a problem with my feet. Someone told me about these and so I bought them. From the moment I put them on and put my orthodics inside, I felt a huge relief. These are the only ones I can wear. They are a bit pricey but comfortable.

exactly what I needed
I researched the style shoe and this shoe lived up to exactly what it promised. An unexpected positive thing is the tongue of the shoe is anchored on each side with elastic. That keeps it from sliding to one side or the other while walking. They looked smaller than my other shoes when I got them, but they are exactly the same size. With feet as big as mine, I need all the optical illusions I can get. I get a lot of compliments on them.

Great Walking Shoes
These are very comfortable for walking. I’ve had many pairs of New Balance Sneakers and these are the most comfy I’ve had. I did take the advice of other reviewers and ordered a 1/2 size up. I’m usually a solid 8m. Got the 8 1/2 and they fit perfectly. Walking 5 miles is a breeze. And they are good looking shoes, a little bulky around the ankle, but that is part of the good support. highly recommend.

Outstanding!
These shoes are great! Plenty of support, excellent sole protection, plenty of room in the toebox, extremely comfortable, and very rugged. The only downside is that the soles are not very grippy on ice.

Overall, I think these make outstanding walking or light hiking shoes, and are comfortable enough to wear all day for any activity.

Good Shoes
Really good shoes. I have to wear thick custom insoles and require a shoe with a big toe box so that my feet aren’t crowded. You can’t tell from the picture but this shoe (in EEE)) has got plenty of room.
In my work, I am on my feet more than eight hours a day with only a few minutes to sit down. I’ve owned other New Balance shoes that were as comfortable but none that were more so. I highly recommend them.

Walking Shoe
I am on my feet all day on concrete surfaces, so I was looking for a shoe that would cushion the impact. This shoe is well made, more like a lite weight boot to me, the upper is stiff out of the box, but will soften after use. The sole has provided the comfort I was looking for, my feet are no longer fatigued and aching after wearing them all day long.
